Jika ada orang lain yang suka iseng maka hal tersebut dapat menjadikan sasaran empuknya untuk mengacaukan pekerjaan kita tersebut. Nah, sebelum meninggalkan komputer mungkin ada baiknya kita mengaktifkan screensaver dan mempassword screensaver tersebut. Dengan demikian ketika seseorang yang ingin mencoba mengaktifkan komputer kita, dia harus memasukkan password yang telah kita masukkan sebelumnya dan dengan demikian komputer kita menjadi lebih aman dari gangguan orang iseng. Kedua, klik HKEY_CURRENT_USER >> Control Panel >> Desktop

Ketiga, pada panel sebelah kanan klik double ScreenSaverIsSecure hingga muncul jendela Edit String, seperti di bawah ini.

Keempat, ganti value datanya menjadi 1

Kelima, tutup jendela regedit.

Keenam, selesai.

Sekarang, cobalah untuk meninggalkan computer kita beberapa saat hingga screensavernya muncul dan kemudian cobalah untuk mengaktifkannya maka apa yang terjadi adalah system akan meminta password kita.

Di satu sisi, hal ini memang sangat membantu namun di sisi lain, kadang-kadang justru merepotkan kita karena dapat menyebabkan komputer menjadi lambat. Keempat, kemudian ganti value data-nya menjadi 0.

Kelima, klik OK

Keenam, tutup jendela regedit

Ketujuh, selesai

Sekarang, coba masukkan sebuah CD ke dalam computer dan pastikan CD tidak dijalankan secara otomatis lagi.

Klik kanan pada desktop kemudian pilih menu Arrange Icon By kemudian klik Show Desktop Icons dan pastikan centangannya muncul kembali.

Dengan menyembunyikan icon pada desktop, wallpaper yang kita setup tidak lagi tertutup (terhalang) oleh icon-icon yang sudah mulai dan hampir menutupi seluruh bagian desktop.

Namun demikian kita kembalikan kepada masing-masing pengguna komputer karena ada yang menyukai desktopnya bersih dan ada juga yang menyukai iconnya tetap ada di desktop. Jika kita menghendaki wallpaper yang bersih maka kita harus “membayarnya” dengan tidak bisa diaksesnya icon-icon tersebut padahal kita tahu bahwa icon merupakan shortcut yang digunakan untuk membuka suatu program, file/folder, atau direktori dengan cara cepat dan praktis.
